Getting Started with SkillRecord

Get the App

The SkillRecord app is available for iPhone and Android devices. Below are installation instructions for each platform.

  1. If you are reading this on an Android device, click here to view the SkillRecord Logbook app in the Google Play app store. Otherwise, open the Google Play app on your Android device and search for “skillrecord”.
  2. Tap the INSTALL button to install it.
  1. If you are reading this on an iPhone, click here go to the SkillRecord app in the App Store. Otherwise, open the App Store app and search for “skillrecord”.
  2. Tap the GET button to install it.

No smartphone? No problem. You can also use SkillRecord using a web browser on your computer (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc…). Just visit and click the Logbook Login button at the top of the page.

Sign into SkillRecord

Enter your email address and password to sign in to SkillRecord.

Hey! What is my password?
You might not have set a password for your SkillRecord account if it created for you by your organization. If that is the case, simply tap the Forgot your password? link and reset it. Once you have done this you should be able to sign in.

Create a Logbook Entry

Tap the green “+” button to open the Logbook Entry form.

Fill out the form with as much detail as you can.

The first time you create a logbook entry, some fields (i.e. employers, projects and equipment) may not have any options listed. Click the “+” icon beside these fields to add a new option.

It is important that you select the correct equipment type and work performed for each entry.

When you are done, tap the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

Congratulations! You just created your first logbook entry.

Adding more logbook entries is even faster and easier. Several fields on the logbook entry form will be pre-filled with your most recent selections. This often reduces the amount of data entry required – assuming you do similar work several days in a row – so you can focus on capturing what is unique about each work day.

Add a Photo

Photos can be attached to specific logbook entries and are great way to illustrate the work you have done.

To add a photo, tap the Add Photo link on one of your logbook entries. On the following screen, tap the Select Photo button. From there you can either take a new photo or select an existing photo from your photo library. When the photo finishes uploading, it will appear at the bottom of your logbook entry. Tap on it for a closer look!

Other Features

Once you have several logbook entries, it is helpful to know how to navigate around your logbook. Some of those options are highlighted below.

Of particular interest is the Summary screen, which tallies total hours logged and provides breakdowns of your entries by project, equipment and type of work performed.

Logbook Reviewers

Other SkillRecord users in your organization may be given permission to review and approve your logbook entries. Approved logbook entries will appear with a green check mark and can no longer be modified.
